Goal of the Program

The overall goal of this regional programme is to ensure that more women and girls across the MENA region benefit from the transformation of patriarchal masculinities and social norms. The programme uses the caregiving and household responsibilities of men and boys as an entry point for achieving this change.

Funding Information

The budget for the proposal should range between 160,000 - 170,000 JOD.

Duration

This is a two-year implementation project, running from end-September 2024 to end-September 2026.

Interventions

The three main interventions to be carried out by the Responsible Party through this project in Jordan are as follows:

  • Conduct a gender review of the targeted Jordanian universities involved in the project (at least three public universities).
  • Develop and implement an elective university course on family wellbeing that promotes shared household responsibilities and gender equitable parenting. This course will focus on young men/male university students, encouraging them to actively participate in caregiving and household responsibilities, while also motivating young women to participate in the labour market. It will be implemented in at least three public universities.
  • Design and implement interactive activities targeting universities to support the program's goals.

Eligibility Criteria

Women’s organizations or entities are highly encouraged to apply. No proposal may be modified or withdrawn after the submission deadline. Proposals with a shorter validity period may be rejected.
