Paul Hamlyn Foundation's Youth Fund Program

Young people participating in a workshop funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Youth Fund Program, focused on driving systemic change and creating equitable environments for youth, with a focus on marginalized and excluded groups.

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation has launched the Youth Fund Program to support organisations working with young people aged 14-25. The program aims to drive systemic change to ensure future generations of young people can thrive.

Funding Information

The Youth Fund Program provides funding of up to £50,000 per year for three years, with a maximum grant of £150,000. The Foundation prefers to fund organisations at the maximum amount and term but does not make grants of less than £30,000 per year.

Aims

The program focuses on:

  • Supporting young people (14-25) who experience systemic inequity, making transitions to adulthood more challenging.
  • Driving change in systems, processes, and practices to create more equitable, inclusive environments for young people.
  • Tackling the root causes of inequity and injustice that create barriers for young people.
  • Centering young people's voices and experiences, especially those who are marginalized or excluded.

Eligibility Criteria

The fund is interested in:

  • Organisations working with young people aged 14-25.
  • Targeted work with young people facing challenging transitions, such as those into or out of education, care settings, housing, or the secure estate.
  • Work that acknowledges young people’s multiple identities, including race, gender, sexual orientation, class, faith, migration status, and ability.
  • Applications from organisations led by individuals most impacted by racism, ableism, classism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, and/or transphobia.

Ineligibility Criteria

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Newly registered organisations without independently audited/examined accounts.
  • Work considered a statutory responsibility.
  • Project-based activities with no scope for wider impact beyond immediate beneficiaries.
  • Service delivery without a focus on broader change.
