About the Role
As a Social Community Manager at Duolingo, you’ll be a key player on our marketing team, responsible for defining and amplifying the voice of our brand across all major social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube Shorts. You’ll need to stay ahead of social trends, create engaging content in real-time, and ensure that our brand remains culturally relevant and resonates with our diverse user base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Voice Mastery: Own and master Duolingo’s voice on social media, ensuring all communications align with Duo’s signature tone and personality.
- Trendspotting: Keep your finger on the pulse of social trends and news stories, identifying opportunities for Duolingo to join the conversation meaningfully.
- Community Engagement: Lead initiatives that surprise and delight our community, such as celebrating streak milestones or creative app usage.
- Cultural Relevance: React swiftly to cultural moments with content that has the potential to go viral, strengthening our brand’s presence.
- Social Listening: Use tools and native platforms to monitor conversations and identify opportunities for Duolingo to engage.
- Creative Campaigns: Innovate and execute creative campaigns, including opportunities for user-generated content that aligns with Duolingo’s marketing strategy.
- Agile Content Creation: Collaborate with social and creative teams to produce fast, low-lift content for platforms like Twitter and Instagram.
- Performance Reporting: Analyze the success of campaigns and initiatives, using data to inform future strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
- Social Media Savvy: You should be active across multiple social platforms, particularly TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Community Management Experience: 1-2 years of experience managing a brand on social media, or a strong personal social presence with a unique voice.
- Creative Copywriting: Skilled in crafting engaging, humorous copy that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Diversity Awareness: Understanding of our learners' diverse backgrounds and a commitment to connecting with all members of our community.
- Availability: Ability to commit to 40 hours a week.
Exceptional Candidates Will Also Bring:
- Production Experience: Hands-on experience with in-app creator tools on various social platforms.
- Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in multiple languages to reflect our global user base.
