Call for Proposals: India Sri Lanka Joint Workshop in Science and Technology

The Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation of Sri Lanka and the Department of Science and Technology of India invite proposals for bilateral workshops to foster scientific collaboration. Apply by October 15, 2024.


The Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation Division, Government of Sri Lanka, and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of India invite Indian and Sri Lankan scientists/researchers to submit proposals for Bilateral Workshops aimed at fostering scientific and technological collaboration.

Funding Information

The maximum budget per project is up to INR 7 Lakhs for the Indian side and 2.5 Million Sri Lankan Rupees for the Sri Lankan side. Funding will cover the following expenses:

  • International return economy airfare for participants will be met by the sending country.
  • Medical and travel insurance for visiting participants will be met by the sending country.
  • Local hospitality including accommodation, local transport, and per diem for visiting scientists will be met by the host country.
  • Local organizational expenses (as recommended by the assessment committee) will be met by the host country.

Eligible Projects

Funding is available for selected Joint S&T workshop proposals involving scientists and technologists from India and Sri Lanka in the following areas:

  • Food Technology
  • Plant-based medicines
  • Robotics & Automation
  • Renewable Energy
  • Waste Management
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Big Data Analysis
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Any other area of S&T with national relevance (with justifications)
