About the Fund

The Solway Firth Partnership has launched the Robin Rigg Community Fund to support community groups and organisations in the Solway area. The fund aims to back initiatives that reduce the effects of climate change and contribute positively to the local community.

Eligible Causes and Projects

Eligible projects should align with the following causes:

  • Environmental
  • Renewable energy
  • Energy efficiency
  • Sustainable development
  • Charitable and educational activities
  • Community-focused initiatives
  • General community amenity schemes

Funding Information

Organisations can apply for a grant of up to £15,000. However, only one application is permitted per organisation each year.

Eligibility Criteria

Applications are welcome from the following types of organisations:

  • Voluntary or community organisations
  • Registered charities
  • Constituted groups or clubs
  • Not-for-profit companies or community interest companies
  • Social enterprises
  • Schools
  • Parish and community councils

Eligible projects must operate within the designated geographical areas of Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland or Cumbria in England.

Ineligibility Criteria

Projects will not be funded if they:

  • Benefit individuals rather than communities
  • Promote political or religious purposes
  • Replace existing public sector funding
  • Undermine energy conservation or renewable energy initiatives
